Our occupational therapy team helps individuals of all ages to improve their abilities to perform everyday activities and establish independence by promoting the development of cognitive, sensory, physical, and motor skills. Our therapists help children and adults to not only adapt but also thrive in the environment in their homes, schools, places of work, and communities.
We have four occupational therapists, Andrew Geleynse, Paige Groetken, Alexya Van Ginkel, and Dana Visser who are dedicated professionals wanting to provide quality care to you and your family. They work with patients with a variety of types of therapy including:
Orthopedics
- Splints for hand, wrist, and elbow fractures – custom fit to assure comfort and protection
- Tendonitis at the elbow, wrist, and hand
- Recovery from fracture – ROM and strength
- Tendon repairs
- Post-surgical elbow, wrist, and hand conditions
- Conservative care for carpal tunnel, de quervain’s tenosynovitis, and other overuse injuries
- Conservative care for tennis elbow
- Arthritis management and adaptive equipment
Pediatrics
- Feeding difficulties (Dana Visser is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding Program.
This specialized training addresses problematic feeding behaviors in children.) - Sensory processing
- Fine motor coordination
- Developmental delay
- Difficulties in ADLs (handwriting, dressing, and utensil use)
- Pool therapy
Limitations in daily tasks
- Individuals who struggle with dressing
- People in need of home safety assessments
- Visual limitations – working with individuals to adapt to the environment and daily tasks who are struggling with visual loss

Focusing on proper movement, strength, ADL participation, and adaptive equipment

Cognitive
- Working with individuals living with cognitive difficulties to participate in daily tasks through use of accommodations
Ergonomics
- Provide worksite and computer set-up evaluations to prevent injury in the workplace
- Available for education, in-services, or workshops centered on proper ergonomics and proper lifting techniques.
